No. Purses simply need to be reusable and in good condition. Yes, we accept new and gently used, but no broken zippers, no missing fasteners and no rips and no stains.
We accept travel sized hygiene products and full sized as well. Many homeless women prefer them because they are lighter and easier to carry. Other women who are in shelters prefer full sized bottles. We also give them to less fortunate women in the community.
Of course! Giving costume jewelry was how we started. Over the years we have also had donors give more expensive jewelry that doesn’t tarnish as easily. We ask that jewelry is not broken or missing pieces and that it can fasten.
We have had several daughters and granddaughters donate their mothers or grandmothers purses clothing and jewelry as part of their healing, closure and giving back to help other women. Normally, we just thank those donors and not mention the origin, unless requested.
We prefer both. In kind means less shopping. Monetary helps us buy spur of the moment trendy items for our lady friends in Outreach.
Fun snacks and throwback snacks that they normally do not have access to. Also no perishable food and snack items for their purses.
